Huckleberry Finn
1. Quiet reading time--40 minutes to do HOMEWORK reading
HOMEWORK:
--Finish your Walden Reading assignment, including finding the rest of your 25 quotes, which are due on Wednesday, when you hand in your Walden Poster and your Walden journal responses (if you don't have the assignment, borrow one from a neighbor)
REMEMBER, read pages 1-64 and 206-216
-- Read Huck Finn chapters 5-10.
2. Huckleberry Finn Vocabulary--Quizlet deck, Huck Finn
"yawl"--"candid"
Memorize the first 15 words for a quiz on Monday.
Use phones or Chromebooks to look up example sentences for the five words you find most difficult and write them down. You do not have to hand them in, but hold onto them and use them to study
3. Watch Mark Twain Biography video--His Amazing Adventures
As you watch, take notes for a Jeopardy game with the following categories:
His Life    His Writing   His Adventures   Mystery/miscellaneous
1
2
3
4
5

Try to come up with enough notes to write 5 questions for each category. Because we will not be pausing the video, just do your best! Start with this quote from Ernest Hemingway about Twain:
"All modern American literature comes from one book, by Mark Twain, called Huckleberry Finn"
